If you’re new to writing, or you’re thinking about becoming a freelance writer, you’ve probably got a ton of questions.
And understandably. There’s a lot of information out there, some of which is conflicting, and some of which doesn’t really paint a clear picture of what being a freelance is all about.
Who better to ask than an experienced freelance writer, right?
However, I get a lot of requests to share my knowledge about freelance writing, and it isn’t feasible to respond to everyone while still maintaining my paid client workload.
If you want to discuss freelance writing – and we really can talk about almost anything – I’m offering an hour long paid consultancy session for writers who have questions and aren’t sure who to ask.
We can discuss your freelance goals, I can answer your questions about freelance writing and can share dedicated time with you over a 1-hour video call as part of a Freelance Writer Consultancy session. I’ll plan ahead with you to make the best use of your time, and so you can get the best value out of the session.
Please note payment of £95 is required upfront to book the call.
I’m not a writing coach, and I don’t have a course to sell, so this is really one of the only opportunities to get direct guidance and access to specific knowledge and questions that I can answer. I found speaking to other writers invaluable when I was first getting started.
Here’s the value you’ll get from a Freelance Writer Consultancy session:
- Intial discovery email to find out what you want to discuss or where you feel you need guidance.
- 1 hour of my dedicated time to talk about whatever you want – I’ll have done some upfront work to make sure I can help you and we stay on track.
- Recording or transcription of the session.
- The opportunity for follow up email with any questions or topics you might have missed.
Not sure what to ask during the call? Here are some ideas of things we can discuss:
- Where to find clients
- How to market yourself and your business
- Whether or not you need a niche
- Useful resources to use as a writer
- Tools and tips that’ll make your writing life easier
- Beauty writing and the beauty industry in general
- Client management and troubleshooting
- Workload management, systems and processes
- Pitching and cold outreach
- Editorial writing vs copywriting vs content writing
Please note, I can’t give legal and/or financial advice or share client sensitive and confidential information (including rates or terms of service). I also can’t tell you if writing is the right career for you or not.
If you’re not quite ready for a consultancy call, then why not follow me on Linkedin or take a look at writing tips from an experienced freelance writer to read some of the content I’ve already written on this topic. I’d also recommend r/FreelanceWriters if you’re looking for content writing tips.
