32 Beauty and Wellness Communities to Follow on Reddit

Reddit sometimes has a bit of a bad reputation BUT there’s a reason why it’s expected to hit 1.66 billion users in 2023.

Chances are your target audience or ideal customer can be found sharing their thoughts, recommendations and ideas in one of the 138,000+ communities (aka subreddits) on the website.

Here’s why I think Reddit is an amazing tool for content planning, content strategy and content marketing for your beauty brand (scroll to the end of this post for 32 subreddits that discuss beauty-related topics):

There’s a community for everything

The most niche topics will have a dedicated subreddit filled with people passionate about their chosen topic. If you’re a niche or targeted brand, you’ll find your people here. These communities are usually diverse, engaged, authentic and brutally honest. But sometimes as a brand, that’s exactly what you need.

Valuable user insights

By listening to the community, you can gain insights into the interests, preferences, and pain points of your target audience. This can help you tailor your content to better meet their needs. It’s great for getting content ideas, spotting trends and seeing feedback.

Good SEO

Reddit’s in site search is trash, but have a specific query that you want real-life answers to? Add Reddit at the end of your search query in Google and get just that. Not SEO-driven answers that ramble on or marketing spiel from brands, just real-life experiences from the community. This can be really useful when it comes to brand reviews, feedback and real-life reccs.

Content promotion, advertising and amplification

Reddit have upped the ante with ads, but tread carefully. Users of the platform hate anything that comes across as inauthentic or corporate. If done thoughtfully and within the guidelines of each subreddit, sharing your content on Reddit can drive traffic to your website or other online platforms, but self-promotion isn’t usually allowed.
